How to put on and adjust your dial knee brace

A dial brace only works if it sits in the right place. These six steps take under a minute once you have done them once.

Putting it on

  1. Loosen the dial all the way. Twist it back until the laces are slack, so the brace opens to its widest.
  2. Check the side. The dial goes on the outer side of your knee. A Right brace goes on your right knee, a Left brace on your left.
  3. Slide it on. Sit down, bend your knee slightly and pull the brace up over your foot and calf.
  4. Line it up. Center the gel ring around your kneecap. The silicone band at the top should sit on your thigh, above the knee.
  5. Twist to tighten. Turn the dial click by click until the brace feels snug and even. Stop before it feels tight or pinches.
  6. Test it. Stand up, bend your knee a few times and take a few steps. If the gel ring has moved off center, loosen, re-center and tighten again.

Re-tightening during activity

Knit relaxes as it warms up. If the brace starts to feel loose mid-session, give the dial one or two clicks. There is no need to take it off.

Taking it off

Twist the dial back to loosen the laces fully, then slide the brace down. Pulling it off while tight can stretch the knit.

Care

  • Loosen the dial fully before washing.
  • Hand wash in cold water with mild soap and air dry.
  • Do not machine dry, iron or leave it on a heater.

Safety

Snug is good, tight is not. If you feel numbness, tingling, throbbing or see your skin change color, loosen the dial right away. Do not sleep in the brace.
